Description

KLINGER Thermodynamic Steam Traps are designed for the efficient removal of condensate and air from steam pipelines and equipment while minimizing the loss of live steam. They operate automatically using the thermodynamic principle and a precision-designed disc mechanism. Their compact and robust construction makes them suitable for demanding industrial steam applications. Design & Construction Body Material: Forged Carbon Steel / Stainless Steel, depending on model Disc: Hardened Stainless Steel Cap: Stainless Steel / Carbon Steel Internal Parts: Hardened and wear-resistant materials Strainer: Available in selected models End Connections: Screwed / Socket Weld / Flanged, depending on model Working Principle When condensate enters the trap, the pressure lifts the disc, allowing condensate to discharge. As hot condensate flashes into steam, pressure builds above the disc and forces it onto the seat, temporarily closing the trap. When this pressure reduces, the disc opens again and the cycle repeats automatically. Typical Specifications Operating Pressure: Depends on the specific model Maximum Temperature: Suitable for high-temperature saturated and superheated steam service Size Range: Available in various nominal sizes Installation: Generally suitable for horizontal installation with the cap facing upward Operation: Fully automatic, with no external power required Features Compact and lightweight design Simple single moving-part disc mechanism Reliable automatic condensate discharge Suitable for high-pressure steam systems Handles superheated steam effectively Resistant to water hammer and vibration Low maintenance requirements Long service life No external power required Applications Steam mains and distribution lines Drip legs Steam tracing systems Heat exchangers Process equipment Power plants Refineries Chemical and petrochemical industries Textile and food-processing plants General industrial steam systems Advantages Efficient condensate removal Helps prevent water hammer Reduces heat loss from condensate accumulation Simple and robust construction Suitable for outdoor installation Easy installation and maintenance Improves overall steam-system efficiency
