Description
A Klinger Thermodynamic Steam Trap is an automatic device designed to discharge condensate, air, and non-condensable gases from steam systems without allowing live steam to escape. It operates on the thermodynamic principle using pressure and velocity differences between steam and condensate. These traps are compact, durable, and highly efficient for high-pressure steam applications.
Construction & Materials
- Body Material: Stainless Steel / Forged Steel / Carbon Steel
- Disc: Hardened Stainless Steel
- Seat: Precision-machined hardened seat
- Strainer: Built-in stainless steel strainer for dirt protection
- Cap: Heat-resistant forged cap design
Working Principle
- Condensate enters the trap and lifts the disc, allowing discharge.
- When steam reaches the trap, high velocity and flash steam pressure force the disc downward to close the valve.
- As pressure drops, the disc opens again, repeating the cycle automatically.
Standards & Specifications
- Design Standard: ASME / DIN / BS Standards
- End Connections:
- Screwed / Threaded BSPT or NPT
- Socket Weld
- Flanged End
Pressure Rating
- Suitable for low to very high-pressure steam systems
- Available up to Class 600 / PN40 and above
