Design & Standards
Floating-ball design: Under pressure, the ball shifts to seal tightly against the downstream seat, ensuring a bubble-tight shut-off.
Built according to ISO 17292, API 608/6D, ensuring global compliance.
Construction & Materials
Body: ASTM A216 Gr. WCB (cast carbon steel), sometimes A105 depending on variant.
Ball: Made of stainless steel—ASTM A351 Gr. CF8M or A182 Gr. F316.
Seats: PTFE or RPTFE for tight sealing.
Stem: Stainless Steel ASTM A479 Type 316.
Seals: Graphite/PTFE for body seal; carbon-filled PTFE for stem; stem packing can be carbon-filled PTFE or graphite.
Configurations & End Connections
Design Types: Available in single-, two-, and three-piece configurations, in both full-bore and reduced-bore versions.
End Connections: Offered with flanged (RF), screwed (BSPT/NPT), socket weld, or butt weld ends.
Pressure Classes & Size Range
Pressure Ratings: ASME Classes 150 to 2500.
Sizes:
Up to 12″ (~300 mm) for general soft-seated models.
Up to 8″ (200 mm) per some suppliers.
Safety & Performance Features
Fire-safe: Designed to ISO 10497 and API 607; features secondary metal seats in fire conditions.
Anti-static: Ensures safety against static discharges.
Blow-out proof stem: Prevents stem ejection under pressure.
Cavity pressure relief: Prevents damage from trapped pressure; relieved via clever seat design.
High-integrity stem sealing: Uses Belleville springs to adjust for wear and thermal variation.
Actuator-ready: Comes with ISO 5211 mounting pad for easy automation.
Application Scenarios
