Description
L&T CS Swing Check Valves are designed to allow unidirectional flow and automatically prevent backflow in piping systems. The valve disc swings open with forward flow and closes automatically when flow reverses, protecting pumps, compressors, and pipelines from reverse pressure damage.
Design Standards
- Design & Manufacture: API 6D / BS 1868 / ASME B16.34
- Face-to-Face: ASME B16.10
- Flange Dimensions: ASME B16.5
- Butt Weld Ends: ASME B16.25
- Inspection & Testing: API 598
Material of Construction (MOC)
- Body & Bonnet: Cast Carbon Steel (ASTM A216 Gr. WCB)
- Disc: Carbon Steel / Stainless Steel overlay
- Seat Ring: SS 410 / Stellited
- Hinge Pin: Stainless Steel
- Gasket: Spiral Wound Graphite
Pressure Ratings
- ASME Class: 150 / 300 / 600 / 900 / 1500
- Suitable for low, medium, and high-pressure applications
Size Range
- 50 mm (2”) to 600 mm (24”) standard range
- Larger sizes available on request
Temperature Range
- Up to +425°C for standard carbon steel construction
- Higher temperatures available with special trims
End Connections
- Flanged Ends (RF / RTJ)
- Butt Weld Ends (BWE)
Working Principle
- The disc swings open when fluid flows in the forward direction
- Reverse flow automatically forces the disc back to the seat, stopping backflow
Key Features
- Automatic non-return operation
- Low pressure drop due to full flow path
- Renewable seat rings
- Bolted bonnet construction
- Durable hinge mechanism
- Suitable for horizontal pipeline installation
- Reliable sealing and long service life
Advantages
✔ Prevents reverse flow automatically
✔ Protects pumps and compressors
✔ Minimal maintenance requirement
✔ Strong and rugged construction
✔ Suitable for high-temperature & high-pressure service
Applications
